Frequently Asked Questions:
Q:Does the Tax Guy offer Refund Anticipation Loans?
| A: |
No, I don’t. I believe such loans are a giant rip-off. Other tax returns preparers and their associated lenders charge extravagant fees for this “convenience,” and tack on administrative and paper-work preparation fees as a way to get even more of your hard-earned money. |
| I will e-file your returns and if you follow my recommendations and elect to have your refund directly deposited into your bank account, you’ll usually have your federal refund in about 10 days, and your state refund even sooner. Certainly you can wait that short time to get your refund!! Especially if it means saving you a significant amount of money! |

Q:What guarantees does The Tax Guy offer?
| A: |
I guarantee the accurate and correct preparation of all federal and state tax returns. If I make an error on your return – whether it’s a computational error or an error in the interpretation of the tax law – unless we have discussed the implications of espousing a controversial position on your return; and if you owe additional tax as a result of my error, you will pay the additional tax, and I will pay any resultant interest and penalties.
If you owe additional tax because you have lost the documents I used to prepare your tax return and can’t prove your entitlement to deductions I determined were correct, you shall be liable for the full amount of the tax, interest and penalties.
If any tax return I prepare is examined by the Internal Revenue Service, the Franchise Tax Board or the Board of Equalization, I shall represent you at the examination proceeding at no cost to you. I will also represent you at the examination of any return I did not prepare, for a reasonable fee which we’ll negotiate in advance.
